Livio Comploi believes the word art must remain solidly linked with the term craftsmanship. His work speaks the language of manual technique and his figures reflect tradition: sacred images or people captured whilst simply performing everyday activities. His sculptures convey a passion for everyday things, searching out the sense of extraordinary in the ordinary. Such as, for example, the stone pine wood from which he produces many of his works, which emanates the typical scent of resin, enveloping the sculptured figure in a warm aura of amazement, intimately connecting the work of art with the whole of Creation.
