Samuel Perathoner's ironic, scathing sculptures have a bewitching ability to deceive the senses. His exaggerated female forms transmit a subtle naivety that renders the protagonists of his work, actresses in an everyday artistic comedy, serene, nonchalant, shameless and free in the knowledge that they are irresistible inspirational muses. Wood is a living material associated with Mother Earth and these female figures with their prosperous shapes remind us of Nature's matriarchal quality.
